Zylom winner in Fast 500 Europe
Prize for Dutch game website at Fast 500

Press - Amsterdam (NL), November 2006

The Dutch game website Zylom can call herself the fastest growing media company in Europe. That’s the outcome of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, the annual election of the fastest growing technology companys in Europe, Middle-East and Africa.

The Fast 500 looks at the revenue growth in the past five years. Zylom is listed seventeenth. In the category Media/Entertainment, Zylom even is the winner. Only one Dutch company is listed higher in the list, navigation expert TomTom won the third prize.

Zylom is proud to accomplish this in five years. Rutger Peters, EVP Zylom comments: “Five years ago, few people were convinced you could make money with free online games. We worked hard to prove the opposite. To finish so high at the Fast 500, a list based on hard facts, is the ultimate reward.”

Zylom, founded in 2001, can call itself market leader for casual games; simple word- and puzzle games to play online. These casual games are becoming more and more popular. Mainly due to the rise of broadband internet, Zylom grew explosively the last years. And who thinks games are only for boys, is wrong. Over 80% of all visitors is female and over the age of thirty.

Earlier this year, the list of Dutch fastest growing technology companies was presented; the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. Zylom finished second, after winner TomTom. Zylom is also nominated for Website of the Year 2006 award. Zylom won this prize in her category in 2004 and 2005.
